The Price of Certainty

Oil and plaster on canvas

36x36x2

Available upon inquiry

This work is constructed through a slow, layered process that prioritizes material presence over immediacy. A plaster foundation establishes the surface, upon which more than ten successive layers of oil paint were applied—each allowed to fully dry before the next was introduced.

Entirely hand-built and created without the use of digital imaging, 3-D modeling, or mechanical processes, the piece exists as a sculptural object as much as a painting. Its surface records time, pressure, and restraint, resulting in a work defined by accumulated process, density, and physical depth.

After nearly two years of curing time, this work is now fully dry and ready for shipment.
